Kamiyacho, Hondori and Tatemachi are in the center of Hiroshima City. It is a fun area where you can enjoy various stores and many events as well as being close to Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle.
Many people may wish to leave their baggage in lockers in order to enjoy the area to the fullest. We have previously written an article on coin-operated lockers in the area for such people.

However, there may be times when there are no coin-operated lockers available anywhere. Or you may want to keep a secure place to put it in advance. For such cases, this article has compiled a list of places that offer “temporary baggage storage” in this area.
There are 8 places in total. I will tell you how to get there while showing you some photos I have taken.
Please note that all of the places introduced in this article are members of a service called “Ekvo Cloakroom”.
This service is not operated by train stations, but by general companies, stores, and organizations. (Therefore, you can leave your baggage only during the business hours of the company or store.)
We will first give you the locations and details of the eight locations, and then explain how to use the Ekvo Cloakroom in subsequent chapters.

First, a map of the entire area
First of all, let me explain the whole area. Please see the map.

- The detailed data including business hours are transcribed from the website of Ekvo Cloak, but some of the information is different from that on the official websites of individual stores. (The information on the Ecco Cloak website is outdated. (We have determined that the information on the Ecco Cloak site may be out of date.)
- With a few exceptions, it is not possible to make reservations directly by phone or other means with the handling store. Reservations must be made through the Ecco Cloak site.
- You can return to the map at the beginning by clicking the “Return to Entire Map” button in the middle of the page.
The locations from (1) to (8) have been filled in on Google Maps and are posted here. Please use this as well if you like. (Click/tap the square icon in the upper left corner to see the store names.)
Now, let me explain each of them. Let’s start with the area west of Kamiyacho.

In the case of 24-hour stores, the second day will be calculated if the 24-hour store is open more than 24 hours from the check-in date. - Local Payment
-
Some stores accept local payment. (If there is an indication on the website to that effect)
Temporary storage at department stores (Fukuya)
A little east of the Tatemachi area, in Hacchobori, there is also a temporary storage facility at the Fukuya Hacchobori main store.
This temporary storage is free of charge, but it is for people who use the Fukuya Hacchobori main store, and is completely different from other temporary storage facilities that charge a fee.
If you are going to enjoy shopping, dining, and movies at the Fukuya Hacchobori Main Store, this is a very convenient place to use.

Summary
We have summarized the details and directions for the 8 places where you can temporarily store your baggage in Kamiyacho, Hondori, and Tatemachi in the center of Hiroshima City.
You can go shopping, go to the movies, or go a little further to the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park, and Hiroshima Castle.
There are many coin lockers in this area, mainly in the Kamiyacho Chaleo underground shopping mall, but sometimes there are no vacancies when you look for them. In such cases, it is convenient to use your smartphone to make a reservation at the Ekubo Cloakroom and leave your belongings there.

Please enjoy walking around the city with ease and empty hands!
