On the night of August 6, lantern floating is held at Motoyasu River in Hiroshima City. I have researched the meaning and history of this event, and have written about my own thoughts on it, as well as my experience of going with a friend four years ago and floating lanterns. There is also a video I took at that time.

Tokasan" is a festival that heralds the arrival of summer in Hiroshima. It is an event of "Enryu-ji Temple" in Mikawa-cho, Hiroshima City, and also a "Yukata Festival" where people in Hiroshima wear yukata (summer kimono) on this day.
